Like many wedding guides, this paperback includes planning time lines and checklists, nice worksheets to track vendors and events, and tips about cost-cutting measures. More atypical is the author's Christian perspective. Tol, a director of youth ministries and a writer for Christian web sites, weaves together personal stories from her own life, comments on various virtues (like modesty), and Scripture references that can serve as a springboard to more personal devotion. The result is occasionally disjointed, though Tol's emphasis on spiritual growth will be appreciated by many. Appropriate as a supplemental wedding planner.
